IMPORTANT UPDATE: HSNEGA COVID-19 RESPONSE

**New hours of operation and changes in services will be implemented this Friday, March 20, 2020.**

The health and well-being of the animals in our care, our team, and the community we serve continue to be our top priority during this uncertain time. To comply with the most recent recommendations for COVID-19 containment from the Centers for Disease Control, the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) will be limiting hours and adjusting our operations for both our Adoption Center and Healthy Pet Clinic starting this Friday.

The Healthy Pet Clinic will be open regular hours tomorrow (9:30 am-6 pm) and offering full services but will be implementing some changes in the way we serve clients. If you visit the Healthy Pet Clinic tomorrow, we greatly appreciate your patience as we test these adjustments to our daily operations.

Information updated as of March 17, 2020. Please continue to check back here for updated information.

The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) takes the current situation regarding cornavirus disease (COVID-19) very seriously. We want you to know we are following all recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) regarding precautions and social distancing.

OUR FACILITY

Currently, our Adoption Center and Healthy Pet Clinic will remain open regular hours, however, our team will be taking steps to more frequently sanitize public areas and we are posting signage around the building about proper hygiene.

EVENTS

We are canceling all pet therapy visits through the end of April and will be postponing our Spring Fling scheduled for March 28. We will be working closely with school and other volunteer groups to postpone or cancel visits to our facility as needed.

RESCUES

Our team is working closely with national organizations to stay up-to-date on animal shelter impacts. One thing we do need help with is fostering for 1-2 weeks to temporarily reduce the number of animals in the building. If you are interested in fostering, please contact Foster@HSNEGA.org.

PETS

At this time, no animals in the U.S. have been identified with the virus, and there is no evidence that dogs or other pets can contract or spread the virus.

We will be continuing to monitor conditions and notify you of additional changes or updates. Please feel free to reach out with questions or concerns, and thank you, as always, for your steadfast support. Rescue is a 24/7/365 job and we are working hard to stay well and save lives but we can’t do that without YOU!

Thank you for being part of our lifesaving family!
Julie, HSNEGA Executive Director
